can I install a flagstone patio without digging?

Sunday, July 3rd, 2011

I have a area in my yard that is level. if I put landscape cloth down first and then flagstone then fill cracks with fine stone, would this be ok to do?

Yes, but to make sure the Flagstone s are all level, bed them on sand. Sharp sand is better as you can use it ti fill any gaps between the slabs as well.

What’s cheaper – building a backyard deck or a patio with pavers or flagstone?

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

have a backyard space to fill. Build a low level deck or do a paver or flagstone patio. Need to save some money here.

Depending on how big it will be, pavers will probably be cheaper
if it is smaller. If it is large enough you can buy flagstone by the
pallet and it would probably be cheaper. and the flagstone would
look much better. If you buy flagstone in small quantities it usually
cost more. And unless you buy premium decking material ( with a
premium price ) it won’t last near as long as the stone will. Especially
close to the ground, decking will rot quicker than a raised deck.

Hope this Helps.
